Usage Guide

Preparation

  • All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from rust, flaking paint, dirt, dust and grease.
  • Rub down all painted surfaces with abrasive paper to provide a firm surface.

Note: Special precautions should be taken to avoid inhalation of dust during surface preparation of pre-1960's paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.

  • Wipe down with dilute detergent, rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Application

  • Radiators must be turned off and painted only when cold.
  • Mask the surrounding area to protect from overspray.
  • To ensure optimum performance store the aerosol at room temperature for at least 2 hours prior to use.
  • Shake the can until the ball inside rattles, then hold the can at the top and swing bottom of can in a circle for at least 1 minute making the ball travel around the bottom groove.
  • To avoid runs and sags spray in light even strokes from a distance of 25-30cm. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Spray a light covering coat.
  • When touch dry (about 15 minutes) apply a further 2-3 coats allowing 15 minutes between each coat.
  • After application leave the radiator off overnight. Rooms should be well ventilated for 12 hours after the heating is turned on.
