Radiator Paint
Usage Guide
   

Preparation

  • For maximum adhesion abrade surface lightly. Remove all loose rust, dirt and grease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners and rinse with clean water. Allow time to dry.
  • For pre-painted surfaces, remove all loose paint and wash down with dilute detergent, rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Note: Special precautions should be taken to avoid inhalation of dust during surface preparation of pre-1960's paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.

 

Application

  • Ideal application temperature is 8 to 25ºC. Stir thoroughly before use.
  • By brush: apply 1 coat to painted surfaces of a cold radiator. Apply 2 coats onto a cold radiator, applying the second coat after 16 hours.
  • Do not use radiators for 24 hours after application.

 

Cleaning & Storage

After use clean brush with White Spirit. Protect from frost and extreme temperatures.

 

Tools Required

Blunt screwdriver or old knife, wire brush or coarse sandpaper, paint brush, goggles, protective gloves, masking tape, Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners and rags.
